Occupational Safety And Health: Dust Levels
Applied Research Services measure dust levels by drawing air through a filter. The concentration of dust in the air is calculated from the mass of dust collected on the filter and the amount of air drawn through it.
We can measure dust using personal sampling pumps worn by staff or using stationary pumps strategically located in the workplace.
The results can be used to check that the dust levels meet OSH requirements.
If necessary , we can send the dust to specialist laboratories to check for the levels of specific contaminants.
We can also make suggestions as to methods to reduce the dust hazard..
Examples of workplaces where we have been able to provide assistance include pharmaceutical industries, timber processing plants and fish processing plants.
If you have a specific query or require more information please contact us to discuss your testing needs.
